"Living A Dream'
I feel fortunate that I have the balance between Artist and Artisan.
Through years of making I now find myself free to express/ make anything I want to.
The childhood dream of being an artist came true when I graduated with a 1st Class BA (Hons.) in Fine Art Sculpture. From there I underwent a traditional bronze casting training at Ken Cook's Foundry. Amongst his clients were Ralph Brown and Dame Elizabeth Frink. These sculpture making skills l applied to metal furniture when I produced the One Off Ltd pieces for Ron Arad.
A period of making bespoke furniture and manifesting the ideas of architects followed. Somehow I ended up working at AB Fine Art Foundry. Their extensive client list includes Anish Kapoor, Jake and Dinos Chapman and Gary Hume.
Now I live and work in Wales feeling free to use my skills in anyway I want. Iron casting being a case in point. This is new to me, challenging mentally and physically.
Don't pinch me I'm enjoying this dream too much.
